1. Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) is a type of fungus indigenous to Asia, including China, Korea, and Japan. Traditional Chinese medicine has relied on this mushroom for thousands of years, largely because it contains phytochemicals like beta-glucans, plant sterols, polysaccharides, and triterpenes.
2. Shiitake (Lentinus edodes) is a well-known food in Asia, its region of origin. It is one of the most cultivated mushroom varieties.
3. Maitake (Grifola frondosa) is a mushroom native to the Japanese mountains. Its name can be translated from Japanese as “dancing mushroom.” Similar to the Reishi mushroom, maitake is a source of beta-glucans and polysaccharides.
